A delightful way to travel to Parramatta is by ferry from Circular Quay, gliding under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and along pretty Parramatta River past Sydney Olympic Park to Parramatta Wharf. The scenic trip is about 85 minutes. A train from Central Station is about 25 minutes.

There is evidence of Parramatta’s colonial past to be found all over the city, from protected parkland to churches, monuments and buildings that date back to the 1700s and 1800s. A good overview of the city’s unique cultural identity can be found at the Heritage Centre, where you can book a tour, listen to a presentation by a local historian and enjoy a range of exhibitions that bring Parramatta’s fascinating stories to life. A trip to the Heritage Centre is an excellent starting point for a day exploring the city’s most iconic heritage sites, which include Elizabeth Farm, the Hambledon Cottage and St John’s Cathedral.

Parks and Natural Attractions

Find refuge from the fast-pace of the city in one of the beautiful parklands and bushland reserves in and around the Parramatta CBD. The Lake Parramatta Reserve, just 2km from our apartments Parramatta Sydney, offers 60 hectares of lush bushland, teeming with native plant, bird and animal life. The popular Parramatta Park, not far from Fiori Apartments, is the local’s favourite place to stroll, picnic, cycle and unwind just a stone’s throw from the city’s main business district.

Food and Shopping

The undisputed shopping capital of Western Sydney, Parramatta is home to several thriving retail districts, including the huge Westfield Parramatta Shopping Centre, one of the largest indoor shopping centres in the country. Lovers of international cuisine will enjoy a relaxing stroll through Harris Park, a multicultural shopping and dining hub lined with continental delis, international restaurants and tempting coffee shops. For delectable produce fresh from local farms, unique fashion and handmade gifts, you can pay a visit to the iconic Parramatta Farmers Markets, held every Saturday in the heart of the city.
